Evidence Based Birth® Childbirth Class
What is Evidence Based Birth®?
Evidence Based Birth® was created by Rebecca Dekker in 2012 who's mission was to be a resource for non-biased evidence-based research about pregnancy and birthing practices. She began by posting papers and handouts for birthing people and their families. Her widely popular position papers have become reliable resources for parents and professionals who are interested in current research and evidence based practices. She now lectures around the country, provides continuing education to birth professionals, and has created and trained childbirth educators in her Evidence Based Birth® Childbirth Class education curriculum.

Our Unique Evidence Based Birth® Classes
Evidence Based Birth® Childbirth Class will teach you all about evidence based care, labor comfort measures, and advocacy skills. When taking the Evidence Based Birth® Childbirth Class, you and your partner will learn the evidence for your birth options in an online class format, AND meet in-person with your local instructor, Alayna, and other parents throughout northeast Ohio, who are on this journey through pregnancy and birth, just like you! We hope to help you feel prepared, get answers, and leave feeling empowered about birth.
It's so important to remember that there is no one right way or place to have a baby. We strive to help you discover the options that feel best for your family. This may mean planning a medicated hospital birth, a planned cesarean birth, a waterbirth at home, a doula-supported unmedicated birth or anywhere in between.
What is included in this Childbirth Class?
Registration includes the TWO in-person classes, FOUR weekly Zoom video chats with your instructor, access to weekly online lessons and assignments, taught by Dr. Rebecca Dekker, PhD, on the Evidence Based Birth® Parents Portal, and a PDF and video library LOADED with the most up to date evidence on topics like Eating and Drinking During Labor, Vitamin K, Due Dates, and more. As a bonus, you will also get to celebrate and share your birth story at our reunion gathering.
One ticket is good for both the pregnant parent and their chosen support person. Your doula or secondary support person is welcome to attend our Comfort Measures in-person class, as well.

Evidence Based Birth Childbirth Class with Alayna
Evidence Based Birth® Childbirth Class will teach you all about evidence based care, labor comfort measures, and advocacy skills. When taking the Evidence Based Birth® Childbirth Class, you and your partner will learn the evidence for your birth options in an online class format, AND meet in-person with your local instructor, Alayna, and other parents throughout northeast Ohio, who are on this journey through pregnancy and birth, just like you! We hope to help you feel prepared, get answers, and leave feeling empowered about birth.
You’ll have access to your Instructor during TWO in-person classes and during FOUR weekly Zoom sessions (video chat).
Date: Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 this class has been cancelled for the 2020 and 2021.
Standard Ticket: $275.00 This includes 3-months of access to the online portion of class, a digital class workbook, two in-person classes, 4 video chats with our class, awesome prizes for completing assignments, and the birth story reunion party.
Deluxe Ticket: $325.00 This includes 6-months of access to the online portion of class, a bound copy AND digital class workbook, two in-person classes, 4 video chats with our class, awesome prizes for completing assignments, the birth story reunion party, PLUS an additional private Zoom (video chat) session with Alayna to discuss your birth plan and address any questions you have.
