Bethany, Birth & Postpartum Doula, First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor (American Red Cross)
Bethany became interested in birth work after feeling in awe of the birthing experience with her own birth. Despite feeling the wonder and beauty of the birthing experience, she had an isolating birth and postpartum journey. She knew she wanted to be invested in creating a birthing culture that centers the birthing person, increases positive outcomes, and creates community. She believes that choosing a doula is choosing to create a new relationship. Another philosophy she holds is “a doula is who you are, not what you do” (Traci Weaver). When she first talks with someone who wants to have a child or who is expecting, she wants to know what they envision for their birth. What support are they looking for and what support can she offer to help meet their needs and desires? She advocates for the birthing person’s wants and needs to be centered.
She strives to be open, honest, transparent, hold space for different opinions and desires, and to continue her learning through professional mentoring and training. As a labor doula, some of the greatest benefits she offers are: providing evidence-based resources for pregnancy/labor/birth, traditional and cultural wisdom and practices, emotional and practical support during the birth, and postpartum follow up and home visits. As a postpartum doula, some of the greatest benefits she offers are: healing and rest practices, a listening and supportive ear, support and reassurance with baby care and feeding, support with household tasks and cooking, and resources and referrals for your questions and needs.

Anna, Postpartum Doula
Anna brings years of experience in serving women, caring for infants, and holding space. Having begun her career as a postpartum doula as a mother of young children, she was driven to provide the care and support to mothers and families that she so greatly benefitted from herself. Taking a special interest in twins and premies, she became highly skilled in infant soothing and complicated feeding and sleep needs.
Taking a break from postpartum doula care for some time, Anna most recently worked in reproductive health care as a counselor and later an administrator. Holding space for the people in need became a vitally needed skill, and she leaned on her experience in postpartum care to fulfill it. During the pandemic Anna left healthcare in pursuit of a more personal, vulnerable, community care and returned to postpartum doula service.
Anna believes strongly in the sacred connection of the mother/baby (or babies) bond, and centers her care around protecting and nourishing it. She sees it as an honor to hold space for the mother in this vulnerable and crucial time of postpartum, whether that is talking through a difficult birth, advising on breastfeeding or bottle feeding techniques, baby soothing and swaddling, cooking and doing laundry - whatever is needed to ensure that mother’s load is lightened enough that her only care is the baby.

Birth Doula Services

Risa, Birth, Postpartum, and Full Spectrum Doula
Risa (she/they) thrives off of creating safe spaces for all humans. As a birth keeper and doula, she shows up for their clients, not only as an advocate but as a guide through each unique reproductive and birthing journey. Fully believing that autonomy and knowledge empowers a birther, they walk alongside each individual to embrace their own power. Risa knows that every human can reclaim birth, life and rebirth “themselves”.
As a mom of three, her ‘rebirthing’ journey began almost a decade ago. Reclaiming her own divinity, creating space in community and following after their passion of birth and Creation. Risa started using her art in her healing and began creating ‘Self Love’ portraits after three wildly different birthing experiences. Fueled with motherhood, she started opening her space to support humans in every walk of life. A safe place for others to heal generational aches that life and how we are born, deeply affects. To turn knowledge into power and prepare generations to come. With a knack for ‘Nesting’ spaces, she uses their artistic minimalistic eye to support households and families in creating a space with flow and natural peace. Giving life to every space she enters. Risa loves gardening, all-day family hikes and hopes to one day travel the world witnessing birth all over.

Dyese, Birth & Postpartum Doula
Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, Dyese’s journey to becoming a traditional birth worker has come full circle. From the tender age of 4, she recalls yearning to see her younger brother be born but was disappointed to find out she was “too young” to be present. At age 10, she unknowingly appointed herself as her aunt’s doula. Before she knew what doulas did, Dyese was adamant about assisting her aunt with anything she could for her aunt’s pregnancy to go smoothly. While initially pursuing medicine to become an Ob/Gyn, she discovered other beautiful ways to serve expectant families and realized her true calling as a rising midwife. Dyese re-entered birth work officially by completing three different doula certifications, a childbirth education course, Foundations of Breastfeeding for Healthcare workers course, Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED, along with neonatal resuscitation (NRP). Today, Dyese has been honored to witness dozens of deliveries in hospitals and homes. Natural labor pain management and home birthing are special interests in being a midwife apprentice. Besides her love for birthing babies, Dyese has an extensive history as an athlete and is also passionate about fitness and healthy living. She’s been a martial artist for 16 years and is now a third dan (degree) black belt instructor in Chang Mu Kwan, a military art form. She is an anthropology graduate of the College of Wooster and has competed in cross country, track and field, and weightlifting. She continues with a similar lifestyle after college by continuing similar workouts when the opportunity presents itself. She has three cat babies and looks forward to marriage and starting a family.

Nadiya, Birth & Postpartum Doula
Originally from Ukraine, Nadiya had experience working with women from different countries and backgrounds in Ukraine, Poland and now in the US. She first certified as a yoga teacher and was providing prenatal and postnatal support for women using yoga techniques like pranayama (breath techniques), meditation (for hypnobirthing), asana practice (for easy natural birth). She saw how great an influence yoga practice has on pregnant women, their birth experiences, postpartum recovery, and the health of their new babies.
Then she got interested in midwifery. She was learning traditional midwifery from well-known midwives and fell in love with it. After having a beautiful birthing experience herself, she decided to certify as a doula and started helping women during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journeys.
Nadiya feels the need to be there for a woman in her most vulnerable times, hold that sacred space, believe in a woman, offer comfort and all the other instruments she can to help and support a new mother. Nadiya respects every parents’ choice and desire, and makes sure the woman’s needs are met in the best way possible. Nadiya is a certified yoga teacher (prenatal & postnatal yoga, Iyengar Yoga, Hatha Yoga schools), certified doula (Doula Link and DONA), CPR certified. She also had trainings in rebozo massage, osteopathy, aromatherapy and works with energy.
