Spinning Babies® Aware Practitioner
What is Spinning Babies®?
Spinning Babies is a revolutionary approach to caring for a pregnant woman to optimize comfort in pregnancy and help women have easier births. The founder Gail Tully's philosophy is based on the idea of physiology before force. We must look at the anatomy, muscles, bones, and other soft tissue in the pelvis to help babies find an optimal position for birth and allow for smoother journey through the birth canal.
When we ask, Where’s Baby? we look for
● Fetal position
● Location of the womb in relation to the pelvis
● Station of baby, or which level of the pelvis the baby is maneuvering
Why we love Spinning Babies®
Spinning babies gives women information, tools, and support throughout their pregnancy online for free! Every women and health care practitioner working with birthing people should have access to this information because it is so easy to incorporate and practice daily. We love self care and this is the mother load of self care tips and tools for pregnancy and birth! Spinning Babies is helping women to be pain free, giving people tools to help babies find an ideal position for birth, and techniques for practitioners to use in labor to help women who's birth might be slow or difficult.
Spinning Babies Aware Practitioner
Jolynn Radin, studio owner, took the Spinning Babies Aware Practitioner® Workshop to learn specific tools to release muscle and fascial restrictions to help reduce pain in pregnancy and prepare the body for birth. We don't "spin" babies but create space within the pelvis and womb to allow the baby to find an optimal position for birth. These techniques are helpful for all women preparing for birth but especially the 20% of people who might still have pain and discomfort or a malpositioned baby after utilizing various spinning babies techniques at home. A massage session can address an injury, scar tissue, chronic pain, or simply release tension and restriction to bring balance to the three outlets of the birth canal. This prenatal massage often focuses on releasing the pelvis, uterus, neck, and diaphragm. You will also learn daily essential tools and unique techniques to address your specific needs.
